Progress of ecological remediation technology of mining-damaged aquifer

  • Underground water system is seriously affected, even changed by mining activities, which is extremely detrimental to the regional ecological environment and safe mining. As for green mining,it is of great value to explore the environment restoration technique and method for promoting aquifer recovered.Affected by the different-degree mining disturbances, the ecological restoration strategies vary in different mining conditions.Underground water may enrich regionally or flow into another field,as aquifer is not connected with mining fractures, without any outflow.According to this,an adverse situation may be caused that stagnant water forms on ground surface due to the level of underground water beyond surface. Thus, ecological management is often carried out to achieve landscape reconstruction. However, considering aquifer is connected to fractures, some protective technique was proposed and applied to block channels for water replenishment and outflow through grout injection, which achieved reinforcement and reconstruction of aquifer in floor. Some problems may arise during aquifer restoration practice in roof, including grout injection failure, blocking failure and high cost.Regarding this,a manually guided aquifer self-restoration method was proposed in this paper, based on the self-decrease flowing capacity of fractures in aquifer rocks.Given the current states that existing method focus on treating aquifer restoration with ides of “reconstruction” and “prevention”,further studies about aquifer restoration technique were proposed in this paper from the perspective of naturally ecological restoration. It is necessary to use the self-healing character of the rock fractures to lead the aquifer to return to its normal ecological state.
