Logging parameters applied to quantitatively identify coal structure in Northern Hancheng Mining Area

  • In order to accurately identify the coal structure in Hancheng Mining Area, so as to realize high efficient development of coalbed methane, based on the analysis on the well coring data at the Northern Hancheng Mining Area, according to the actual condition, the coal structures of the seams within the mining area was di vided into Type I, TypeI and Type m. In combination with the logging curves of 18 wells within the mining area, the paper analyzed the logging response features of th e different coal structures and optimized three parameters with the good relative of the coal structures. The three parameters were the well diameter CAL, acoustic trav el time DT and difference coefficient FRof the apparent resistivity amplitude. The geological strength factor GSI was introduced to the valuation of the coal structure.Th e logging parameters were applied to establish the multiple regression equation to quantitatively identify the coal structure. The independent variables CAL, DT and FR and dependent variable GSI in the equation could meet the linear correlation. The case application effect showed that with the equation, the quantitative identification r esults of the coal structure would be the same to the well coring results and the high accuracy would be applied to accurately divide the“dessert area' of the coal struct
