Study on numerical simulation on shaped charge blasting parameters of peripheral holes

  • In order to study the wall thickness and the slit width of shaped charge tube affected to the shaped charge blasting effect, the numerical simulation software - ANSYS /LS-DYNA was applied to establish a blasting geometric model of a single hole. A stress variation process during the blasting period was obtained. The paper had an analysis on the wall thickness and the slit width of the shaped charge tube as well as the explosive coupling condition affected to the rock stress state. A blasting geometric model of the double holes was established and a comparison analysis was conducted on the stress state under the condition with a shaped charge tube or without shaped charge tube. The study results showed that the shaped charge tube applied with the slits would be in a first priority to cause the shaped charge jets from the slits after the explosive was detonated and could enhance the superimposition of the stress filed along the connecting line of the peripheral holes. The blasting stress could be 1.4 times higher than a blasting without shaped charge tube. Under the condition of a non-coupling charge, the best slit width of the shaped charge tube was 4 mm. Under the condition of the coupling charge, the rock breaking efficiency would be higher than the uncoupling charge. The best wall thickness of the tube was 3 mm.
