Induced stress features and affected on fracture network reconstruction by different fracturing methods

  • In order to have the induced stress variation features and affected to the formation of the fracture network under the different fracturing methods, the RFPA2D-Integrated software was applied to simulate and study the induced stress distribution law of the induced stress under the multi fractures existed and to simulate and study the variation features of the multi fracture superposition and double fractures induced stress with the sectional space under the steady fracturing and alternative fracturing methods. Taking LP2 well in Daning Block as a case, two fracturing methods affected to the formation of the fracture network were analyzed. The results showed that the two fracturing methods would cause the different coefficients of the induced stress in no fractured section. In the sectional fracturing method, with the fracturing sections increased, the different coefficients of the induced stress in the non fracturing section would be increased and would be highly increased when the section space would be smaller. In the alternative fracturing method, with the sectional space distance increased, the induced stress coefficient would be firstly increased and then decreased. When the sectional space was two times of the fracture half length, the different coefficient would be the maximum. The two fracturing methods could be both applied to realize the fracture network reconstruction. But the induced stress superposition in the sectional fracturing would be complicated and the sectional space would not be easy controlled. The induced stress of the alternative fracturing would be controlled relatively and the construction procedure would be complicated. The study results could provide the references to optimize the sectional fracturing space at the site.
