Study on Fluid Dynamics Simulation and Experiment of Wide Particle Grade Slime Floatator

  • Due to the coarse particles were heavy and had a low probability to the bubble collision in the conventional floatation,once sticking on the bubbles,the p articles would be easily detached from the bubbles by the strong turbulence movement of slurry.In combination with the floatation features of the coarse and fine particl e minerals,a wide particle grade coal floatator suitable for coarse and fine minerals separation was designed.The FLUENT software was applied to the numerical simula tion study on the gas-fluid two phase flow filed of the floatator.With the analysis on the inner fluid velocity,turbulence intensity and gas-phase concentration of the floata tor,the structure floatator was approved to provide each fluid dynamics environment required for the coarse and fine coal floatation.A wide particle grade slime floatation experiment system set in the lab was applied to the floatation experiment on the slime with 01 mm in Zhangcun Mine Coal Preparation Plant. The results showed that wit h a suitable floatation technique condition selected,when the floatator was applied to the floatation of the 01 mm wide grade slime,the quantity index of the floated clean coal and the combustible mass recovery rate were 96.33% and 92.07 % individually.
