Calculation on key parameters of ventilation system with new large diameter escape channel

  • In order to overcome a long escape distance in a large minefield and hard to ensure personnel in danger to safe withdraw in the northwest area,a new refug e mode with a combination of the refuge chamber and a large diameter escape channel was provided. In order to form a ventilation system in the chamber and channel,the fluid mechanics and the mine ventilation theory were applied to analyze the ventilation volume required by the refuge chamber. The air velocity within the channel was 0.8 m/ s. A standard compressed air tub was selected. The outlet pressure of the compressed air tube was calculated. Based on Bernoulli equation,the outlet pressure of the p ressure reduction device was limited at0. 12 ~ 0. 30 MPa to ensure the surface pressure difference could overcome the ventilation resistance. The calculation results show ed that the air velocity in the channel and the outlet pressure of the pressure reduction device both could meet the stipulation and could form an effective ventilation syste n.
