Study on Geological Structure Features and Water Control Mechanism in Xinggong Mining Area

  • In order to investigate the geological tectonic in Xinggong Mining Area affected to the underground water contral law and the mine water inrush, based 0 n the large geological original information and mine water inrush information, a theoretical analysis and the site measurement study were conducted.The study results s howed that multi periodical tectonic evolutions with initial compression and later extension and tension in Xinggong Mining Area formed monoclinal tectonic with a strike closed to EW and an inclination of NE.In the south part of the mining area, Xingmi anticline was the watershed of the underground water and in other parts, the faults fo rmed the water isolated boundary.The tilting tension role by the fault block controlled the karst development and would have the features of west weak, east strength an d vertical zoning.The fold tectonic could control the runoff and enrichment of the karst underground water and the water inrushes frequently occurred in the fold and fail ures.Thus Xinggong Mining Area was a individual hydrogeological unit and the regional geological tectonic could have obvious control function to the hydrogeological C ondition and mine water inrush in the mining area.Finally according to the analysis on the water inrush mechanism, the precautionary countermeasures were provided t 0 the water inrush caused by failure tectonic.
