Study on Preparation and Desulfurization Performances of High Temperature Desulfurizer Applied to DC- SOFC

  • In order to research and develop high temperature desulphurizer suitable for Direct Carbon Solid Oxide Fuel Cell ( DC- SOFC) , taking Zr 0CI2 8H2O an d Mn ( NO3) 2as the raw materials, a fractional precipitation method was applied to prepare Mn- Zr- 0 complex high temperature desulfurizer with different Mn loadings. The features of the desulfurizer were explained with X- ray diffraction, BET specific surface area and other means and an evaluation on the desulfurization performance s was conducted under high temperature of 800 °C.The study results showed that when molar ratio between Zr and Mn was 10: 4, the specific surface area would be t he maximum and when the desulfurization evaluation was conducted, the penetration tine would be the longest. When molar ratio between Zr and Mn was 10: 1, dispe rsibility of Mn2O3 on Zr 02 would be the best and the desulfurization accuracy would be the highest with below2 x 10- 6. A requirement of the lowest sulfur content ( < 9x 10- 6) in syngas could be met for the DC- SOFC.
