Predication of Coalbed Methane Enrichment Blocks Based on Streamline Simulation of Aquifer

  • In order to directly show the hydrodynamic field in the southern Qinshui basin, and selecte the favorable zone for coalbed methane exploration, based on the hydrogeology investigation, the No. 15 Coal Seam Aquifer had been streamline simulated with Quanty View and IES Softwares. The results indicated that the reticul ar unidirectional groundwater run off in aquifer from the Northeast to the Southwest on the whole. Sometimes it converged locally, finall, forming the Zaoyuan and the Panzhuang Catchment Area respectively. But the hydrodynamic conditions varied with different areas, causing the different productivity of coalbed methane and water i n study areas. The paper combined with analysis of the relationship between hydrodynamics and gas content, and suggest that the recharge, run off and stagnation are as of groundwater are corresponding to the low gas content zones ( < 8 m3/ t),medium( 8 ~ 16 m3/ t) and high ( > 16 m3/ t) respectively. At last, the research area ha ve been divided into the unfavorable, more and the most favorable area from the boundary to the centre respectively.
