Effects of Scraper Running Speed on Internal Flow Field in Shallow Slot Heavy Medium Separator

  • In order to achieve the best speed of scraper during the separation process of shallow slot heavy medium separator, the authors shoot fluid particles mot ion image by PIV particle image technology and studied the internal flow field in shallow slot heavy medium separator at various scraper speed. The results showed that scraper speed would impact seriously flow field shape and movement laws. Therefore, scraper speed should be strictly controlled, when scraper speed was 0. 06 ~ 0.0 8m/ s, it was the best to coal sparation. In order to avoid impacting on coal normal separation, the flow field area by scraper speed affected should be controlled below the underflow zone.
