  • In order to obtain the influence law of coal water content on the intensity of coal and gas outburst, simulation experiments on coal and gas outburst of dif ferent coal water content were conducted by using the large self-developed coal and gas outburst simulation experiment system under the constant gas pressure and a xial stress and coal forming pressure. Meanwhile, mathematical equations that contain outburst coal and the farthest projecting distance were proposed to describe the relative intensity of coal and gas outburst. The results showed that laboratory simulation result was basically consistent with the field of coal and gas outburst, therefor e, the self-developed simulation experiment system was reliable. And a quadratic curve relation between coal water content and relative intensity of outburst was obtain ed with axial pressure 8 MPa and gas pressure 0.8 MPa. Furthermore, it could be concluded that the higher coal water content, the smaller relative intensity of outburs t, hence the slimmer chances of coal and gas outburst occured.
