  • In order to improve the coal mining rate of No.1601 shortwall mining face with the continuous miner in Donggedu Mine, the rational roof control technical measures were determined .According to the mining conditions of the coal mining face with the continuous mine in Donggedu Mine, the FLAC3D numerical simulation an d the site observation means were applied to analyze the roof falling conditions under different width condition of the cut pillar and the space insulated pillars of No. 160 1 coal mining face with the continuous miner.The results of the numerical simulation and the site observation all showed that under the cut pillar with the width of 1.01 .5 m and the insulated pillar with the width of 12 m, the mining rate of the coal mining face with the continuous miner would be maximum improved and the regularly roof f aling could be ensured .After the rational optimization of the pillar width, the coal mining rate of No.1601 coal mining face with the continuous miner could reach at 68. 7% and the roof falling step distance could be controlled at the width of five connection gateways.
