  • In order to evaluate the gallium resource potential in the coal-bearing rock series of Hanguzhuang-Yanchi Coalfield Exploration Area, the statistics were conducted on the coalfield geological information of the exploration area and the data of the experiment results. An analysis was conducted on the distribution features, influence factors and geologic genesis of the gallium in the Carboniferous-Permian coal-bearing rock series of the study area. The results show that the gallium enrichs obviously in the seam, roof and floor as well as partings in the study area. The weighted average value of the gallium in the underneath seam as well as the roof and floor, and the partings all are over the marginal grade of the gallium. The gallium content in the vertical direction increases with the seam level decrease. In the same seam floor, the gallium content is higher than the roof and seam.In a plane direction, the gallium content in the east is higher than the north-west.The bauxite mudstone in the bottom of Taiyuan Formation is main material resources of the gallium. The coal-forming environment in the Carboniferous-Permian period made the enrichment of the gallium. The tectonic movement created the favorable sedimentary environment conditions of the gallium enrichment.
