Research Progress of Preparation and Modification of Activated Carbon for Flue Gas Mercury Removal

  • According to the research of activated carbon materials for flue gas mercury removal at home and abroad,from three aspects which were the selection of raw materials,activation methods,post-processing modification methods ,the paper summarized the process of preparation and modifying activated carbon for mercury re moval,and discussed the mercury removal efficiency of activated carbon prepared by different methods. The results showed that post-processing modification method n ot only was the common method to prepare activated carbon for mercury removal,but also it was more effective method to improve mercury removal of activated carbo n. This method mainly comprised the metal oxide modification,halide modification,metal halide modification,organic modification. However,this method process was com plex and not suitable for industrial application. New effective method for preparation and modification of activated carbon for mercury removal should be studied.
