  • During the exploration and development of coalbed methane,it is necessary to accurately predict the distribution trend of gas content in coal seam and to further provide advices for exploration and development,which will undoubtedly avoid blind investment,thus saving a lot of manpower,material resources and financial resources.This study is to collect,collate and analyze the conventional well logging data obtained from the coalbed methane parameter wells.By means of the regression analysis method,the author analyzed the logging parameters and coalbed methane contents,compared their correlations,removed the logging parameters with small correlation,and then found the parameters having the largest correlation with the gas contents in the coal seam,in order to establish the relationship between coalbed methane contents and logging parameters.Through testing the regression formula obtained,author found the regression method was accurate and reliable.The coalbed methane content of the main coal seam could be utilized to guide the production.This method could be used for predicting the content of coalbed methane,and for further improving application of the well logging data,which would significantly improve economic benefits and social benefits of the well logging work.
