For easing the pressure on the flotation tailings treatment system imposed by environmental protection regulations and expansion of capacity of Bakuan g Coal Preparation Plant, the measures for progressively reducing the volume of talings are adopted by the plant using the 3-stage thickening and 3-stage recovery pro cesses. Practice shows the use of the technologies has led to effective easing of the load on tailings treatment system, improvement of stability of washing system, sav e of operating cost and improvement of both social and economic benefits.
