Abstract��With the XRD analysis on the catalyst of Shenhua coal liquefaction and the study on the catalyst affected to the residue gasification reactivity, the melnikovite was found as the main formation of the liquefaction residue catalyst. After the pyrolysis coking process, the pyrrhotite was the main form of the catalyst residual. The steaming and CO2 gasification was conducted on the extracted mineral substances and residual semi coke with the liquefaction catalyst added. During the reaction process of the steam gasification, the catalyst would have less influence to gasification reaction of the residual semi coke. This was because great H2S gas were generated during the steam gasification reaction process, the catalyst effect of the iron element in the catalyst was restrained and the gasification reaction of the residual in the steam gasification reaction process was reduced. During the CO2 gasification reaction process, due to less sulfur content gas generated, the iron element in the catalyst would have certain catalyst effect to CO2 gasification of the semi-coke.
